The whole world became dark. As the darkness that surrounds the earth, its inhabitants were one by one disappeared.

Luke (Hayden Christensen) is a television reporter who finds his town has changed completely. Detroit’s not changing, but none of the remaining occupants. As Luke tries to explore the city that is now turned into a ghost town, he met several people who were also experiencing the same oddity.

Rosemary (Thandie Newton), Paul (John Leguizamo), and James (Jacob Latimore) are three people who are still remaining and none of them understand why all of a sudden all the inhabitants of the town disappeared. The darkness that was the cause of the loss of all residents of the city. No more shelter unless they managed to turn on the light source until sunrise the next day.
